About Gregory

Gregory Tolkachev is the founder of Scriptor, an AI voice notes app for iPhone.

Before building Scriptor, he worked across marketing and software development, combining product thinking, growth, design, and engineering. That background shaped how Scriptor is being built: not as a generic transcription tool, but as a focused product for capturing ideas, voice memos, study notes, reflections, and everyday thoughts with less friction.

Why I’m building Scriptor

Voice is often the fastest way to capture an idea, but most voice recording tools still feel like storage for audio files. They let you record, but they do not make the recording easy to search, understand, organize, or reuse.

Text notes have the opposite problem. They are useful once written, but typing can be too slow when an idea appears suddenly, when you are walking, after a meeting, during a study session, or when you just want to speak freely.

In the AI era, I wanted something better than a voice recorder and more natural than a blank notes app. I wanted to speak first, then let the app turn that raw audio into a transcript, summary, title, tags, and a searchable note I could ask questions about later.

That is why I started building Scriptor.

Capture first. Organize later.

Scriptor is built around a simple idea: note-taking should not start with formatting.

You should not have to decide the perfect title, structure, tag, or folder before capturing a thought. You should be able to record quickly, import audio when needed, and let AI help turn the result into something clear and useful.

The goal is not to create another heavy workspace. The goal is to make voice notes feel as practical as written notes: searchable, editable, organized, and easy to reuse.

What I write about

On this blog, I write about voice notes, audio transcription, AI note-taking, idea capture, study notes, productivity workflows, and the process of building Scriptor.

The focus is practical: how people can capture thoughts faster, organize information with less manual work, and use AI to make notes easier to search, summarize, and act on.
